If you don't have access to a lot of alternative recipes, the Polymer Resin recipe can be used to double Residual Rubber production (or to slightly increase Residual Plastic production). It is important to still have a overflow Sink in a line handling Polymer Resin, as a safeguard against backing-up.Most notably, this includes recipes transforming Crude Oil into Rubber, Plastic, or Fuel, but it is also used as part of advanced production recipes, such as refining Bauxite into Alumina Solution and then further into Aluminum Scrap. Residual Rubber makes 1 Rubber from 2 Resin and Residual Plastic makes 1 Plastic from 3 Resin ( the Polyester Fabric alt recipe makes 1 Fabric from 1 Resin ) The Refinery is a building used for crafting recipes involving fluids. This allows it to be used to allow a Fuel plant to augment the primary production of a Rubber or Plastic factory. Solar Power, this is most important, running power kilometers just for a docking station and a miner is a brutal work until you get trains, too much is dependent on trains. While this can be handled with the AWESOME Sink, merely adding water allows it to be used to produce Rubber, Plastic or Fabric (via a MAM unlock). I havent seen any streams lately (busy) so no idea whats been discussed but when U7 does get here, there are several things I want to see in U7. However, since both the default Fuel recipe and the Heavy Oil Residue alt create it as a byproduct, it is all but inevitable that a player with Fuel power will be generating it somehow, and it has to be disposed of in some way to avoid backing up. Polymer Resin is not a particularly desirable main product in Oil production, due to poor ratios. It can be a bit subjective, so don't take it too serious. This section serves as a summary for alternative recipes and when they could be used.
